Manta Lodge
, located at the north-eastern corner of the island of Tobago in the sleepy fishing village of Speyside, is nestled on the fringe of the Mountain Rain Forest, the oldest rainforest preserve in the Western Hemisphere.

Arriving at Manta Lodge

E
ach guest room has an ocean vista, private bathroom and porch or veranda, perfect for viewing our spectacular sun rise, nearby Little Tobago, or the host of birds and butterflies flitting amongst the Lodge's flowering bushes and trees.

Embellished in old world Caribbean elegance, the cozy 22 room property may be small, but it still features a number of 'big' amenities - the Green Moray Bar & Restaurant, soft sand beach, full service dive shop, freshwater swimming pool, reading nook with a multi-lingual lending library, endless hiking trails and plenty of room to relax!

Manta Lodge's picturesque beach

It also offers something that can't be found at the larger properties, and that is the "down home" feeling of intimacy and warmth that surrounds you from the minute you arrive, to the day you depart. More often than not, you'll leave with a new group of "life friends" from among the staff and fellow guests.

Socializing at Manta Lodge frequently centres around the Green Moray Restaurant, where guests gather for breakfast, lunch and extraoridinarily fine dinners that are generally followed by (and/or preceeded!) by lively chat sessions at the bar.

The Lodge's serene and comfortable setting is the backdrop to a host of activities including bird watching, fishing, hiking, snorkeling and most especially, diving.

Greeted by a Green Moray

Tobago's diving is unlike any to be found in the Caribbean, in large part due to it's extraordinarily nutrient rich waters and deep southern Caribbean location. It is in fact the most southerly Caribbean island to support coral communities.

The best diving in Tobago is centred at Speyside where the waters are home to many species of tropical fish, rays, sharks, turtles, and magnificent Manta Rays! Tobago is one of the few Caribbean destinations where Manta's can be seen by divers (primarily during the spring and early summer) on a regular basis. It is part of the Tobago Dive Experience our dive staff relish sharing with our guests.
