DAY ONE: Upon your arrival at Piarco International Airport in Trinidad you will be transferred to the Asa Wright Nature Centre and Lodge. After orientation and high tea, you can wander the trails that traverse this rich and diverse wildlife sanctuary or take a cooling dip in the Centre's natural pool, sip Rum Punch at sunset on the Verandah followed by dinner and a good nights sleep!

DAY TWO: Take a guided tour of several of the Centre's trails, learning about the rainforest ecosystem, its plants, birds, and insects. Your afternoons will be free to explore the Centre's trails, relax on the famous Asa Wright veranda, or arrange optional tours. Dinner at Asa Wright.

DAY THREE: Visit Dunstan Cave, a beautiful riparian grotto located on the sanctuary, to view the breeding colony of the fascinating nocturnal Oilbird. Make a late afternoon visit to the famous Caroni Marsh to witness the spectacular flight of Scarlet Ibis returning to their mangrove roosts at dusk, truly one of the world's most dramatic natural moments. Dinner at Asa Wright.

DAY FOUR: Breakfast followed by departure to Piarco Airport for the short flight to Tobago and transfers with our local guide to Manta Lodge in Speyside. After check in and lunch (lunch not included in price) you will depart on a 20-minute boat trip to Little Tobago Island. Following a guided tour of the island, guests are free to snorkel or swim while awaiting the boat transfer back to the island. Dinner at Manta Lodge.

DAY FIVE: We begin our day with a guided tour into the Rain Forest on the Gilpin Trace. There are a number of trails in the Tobago Main Ridge Reserve, the oldest natural reserve in the western hemisphere, however the Gilpin Trace has the distinction of being the oldest named trail. It is also the most "well traveled" by tour groups, so depending on what we find when we get there, we may opt to hike a less traveled but equally species rich trail nearby. Once off the trail we will drive a short distance in search of a road side "Roti" stand to pick up this dish for a light lunch as we make our way to Argyle Falls. (Lunch not included in price.)

DAY SIX: Lay day. Spend the day leisurely exploring the walking trails in Speyside. We also highly recommend all of our guests consider renting a car to explore the island followed by a visit to the Arnos Vale Hotel for the 4:00 p.m. bird feeding and high tea.

DAY SEVEN: We'll head west to the Grafton Sanctuary.  Depending on what we see and hear, we will likely start our tour by taking the longest of the three trails into the estate grounds, which takes us past several abandoned buildings and stables. After leaving the Estate we will head toward the Arnos Vale Hotel to investigate the woods in the surrounding lanes and grounds of the hotel itself, which are littered with bird feeding stations.

DAY EIGHT: Breakfast followed by departure to Crown Point Airport for departures home.

Additional and custom itineraries can be arranged upon request.
